Chapter 179 - 179 Jin Lu
She wore her long wavy down, and her eyes were as charming as a deer’s. She was petite but elegant. She walked into the classroom in a cheongsam.
The students were full of praise.
“This teacher is so good-looking; she looks like a celebrity.”
“Yeah, if I had that figure, I’d be a celebrity or an online influencer. Why would I be a teacher?”
The teacher’s eyes swept over the students, and everyone fell silent. No one noticed that her eyes paused on Qiao Yue for a moment.
“Hello, everyone. I’m your music teacher for this semester, Jin Lu.”
Qiao Yue frowned.
She had heard of this name before.
KA owned several entertainment companies and Jin Lu seemed to be one of their artistes.
Qiao Yue raised her head to look at Jin Lu.
Jin Lu’s eyes met Qiao Yue’s and she smiled as if she was smiling at Qiao Yue.
“I’m a girl band member managed by one of KA’s entertainment companies. Because our band is currently on a break, I’m here to be a teacher for a semester.”
When the students heard this, they started searching for Jin Lu on the internet.
It wasn’t a very famous band, and it seemed to have become known only recently. The reason the band took a break was because of members’ academic problems.
How could it be so coincidental that Jin Lu was her music teacher?
Qiao Yue frowned. She felt that something was not right.
In the first lesson, Jin Lu mainly explained the history of the marimba and the basic playing techniques.
After explaining the basic techniques, Jin Lu let the students try out the instruments by themselves. She also gave an assignment where students sitting in the same row would play against each other before the lesson ended.
Qiao Yue and Qiao Xin happened to sit in the same row, which meant that the two of them would go head-to-head.
Qiao Yue frowned and played according to Jin Lu’s instructions.
She chose the simplest song. Her memory and hand speed were not bad. Other than a lack of rhythm and a bit of clumsiness in the way she held the mallets, there was basically no problem.
Qiao Xin, who was standing next to her, looked at Qiao Yue’s slightly clumsy playing posture and smiled smugly.
Even though Qiao Yue was wearing a Harvey uniform, he was still not presentable when it came to such high arts.
Qiao Xin cleared her throat and flipped to the last part of their songbook.
Songs in their standard songbook were arranged by level of difficulty. While everyone was still playing the easier pieces at the front, Qiao Xin was already looking through the songs at the back.
After she found a piece that she liked, she put her songbook on the music stand. She even pretentiously adjusted her posture as she looked at Qiao Yue provocatively.
Mallets fell on keys and musical notes flowed smoothly with Qiao Xin’s every movement.
It was a song adapted from the piano piece “Für Elise”. The climax, when played on the marimba, sounded like flowing water. The students next to Qiao Xin forgot the song they were playing and looked at Qiao Xin.
Qiao Xin did have some musical talent.
Jin Lu, who was walking around the class correcting students’ postures, also looked over expectantly.
At the end of the song, the students all clapped and looked at Qiao Yue, who was standing in the same row as Qiao Xin, reading a score.
“Qiao Xin, you played very well. Did you have any musical foundation?”
Qiao Xin held her head high, proud as a peacock. “I’ve learned many other instruments. I’ve dabbled in the violin, piano, and so on.”
Just as Qiao Xin was about to say more, Jin Lu interrupted, “Then what song will Qiao Yue, who was in the same group as Qiao Xin, play?”
Everyone looked at Qiao Yue.
“Qiao Yue can’t play any instruments, can he?”
There were two boys in the class who were very close to Qiao Xin. Even after the fight, they still protected Qiao Xin. These two boys took the lead in mocking Qiao Yue.
Everyone looked at Qiao Yue skeptically.
Although Qiao Yue was good at fighting, he probably didn’t have much talent in this area.
“Qiao Yue, what song did you choose?”
Qiao Yue glanced at the crowd, opened her songbook and put it on the music stand.
Everyone stuck their heads out and looked at the title on the page to which Qiao Yue opened. They all gasped.
This was too ambitious.
The page that Qiao Yue opened to was “Flight of the Bumblebee”.
This song was adapted from a symphony and was very fast. It required a very strong memory to play it well.
