Valerian, The Legendary

Chapter 255 - 255 Growing in fight.

Frila and Teal looked at each other and they understood what Valerian was talking about. The magicals also dwelled in the world of humans and they did it to maintain the balance. This was their interest and to make sure this balance was not disrupted, they would do all sorts of things from the shadows.

While the humans did not know how to conceal themselves and just expressed themselves openly. The two guards did not continue this conversation as it was enough for them. Three people traversed the forest with great speed, however, suddenly Valerian stopped in his tracks and leaned down.

In a quick motion, a sword appeared in his hand and slashed at the attacker’s side. Valerian was not slow, and neither was it a bluff. His weapon made contact with the limbs of the attacker, and then it was followed by a scream.

Frila and Teal were not slow either, but the attacker had been dealt with when they arrived near Valerian. Looking at the attacker, Valerian found that it was a humanoid. Frila looked at the green scales on the cheek of the attacker and snarled, “Snakes.”

Valerian was surprised and asked, “What is going on here?”

Frila said, “This man is from the enemy clan. One of the snakes, who are always after us, and the trees of origin.”

The next moment, Teal moved in and appeared in front of the crying attacker and then he stabbed the spear right through the head of the attacker. He said, “These Lunakes are getting more and more pompous. This place is not far from our clan territory, how dare they come patrol here?”

Frila shook her head and said, “Teal erase the traces, and we will go back and I will report this situation to the general and the maiden.”

.....

As Teal was about to take action, a creepy voice sounded from the surroundings, “Awww, little birdie, do you want to report our movements to your clan? How cute.”

Valerian raised his sword and took an attacking stance. He held the ancient wooden sword in a reverse grip in his vacant hand. He was wary of the magic that could be used in this situation against him. He was still wearing the anti-magic bracelet on his wrist. The people on the other side did not seem to be too friendly.

Frila and Teal stood back to back with Valerian, while the two guards held spears. Valerian asked, ‘Do we have to fight till death?’

Frila replied, ‘Yes, I would have tried to inform people but we outnumbered three to one.’

On the other side, Teal said, “Step out of the dark, you perverted piece of shit?”

The forest echoed with a peal of eery laughter and a man stepped out of the shades. The man was not alone, thirty more people were peeking out from behind the trees. Valerian could hear slight hissing sounds from the surroundings. He said, ‘They are all preparing traps to stop you from flying away.’

Frila nodded, and the man in command of the Lunakes said, “So, little birdie, what do you plan to do?”

Frila tilted her head and said, ‘Kill!’

Valerian moved first and then appeared next to the weakest warrior in his range of sight. His blade flashed and a person was beheaded. Valerian was not going to leave any chance of regrouping or collecting their thoughts as he started attacking the people.

Frila and Teal were not lagging behind either but they were not as effective as Valerian was. The young man countered the mana spells aimed at him with the wooden sword and then claimed lives with his metal sword. The process was cyclic and the result was exponential.

Frila and Teal were giving each other a hand while facing these warriors. They did not have the mana-dispelling tools so they countered magic with magic. Valerian was so strong and sharp that his actions caught the attention of the commander of the enemy side.

The man smirked and said, “How interesting.” then he moved into attack after telling his deputy to take command. He wanted to capture Valerian alive.

His speed was fast as he approached Valerian, who was about to kill the man standing in front of him with a swift sword slash. The commander of the enemy side approached him in a sneaky manner and targeted his back. However, Valerian had trained himself in the forests and faced a considerable amount of battles where his life was at stake. His senses were not dull to let the enemy succeed in sneak attacking him.

The young man decisively pulled back from attacking the enemy in the front and moved to the side. The commander of the enemies was so ruthless that he did not hold back and his magic sword slash cut his own comrade into two neat cross-sections.

Valerian was not surprised and he narrowed his eyes at the man. The commander of the enemies smiled and said, “I am Wakar, who are you, young bird.”

Wakar looked like a middle-aged man, his sharp eyes were screaming about his snake origins. Valerian did not reply to him but stood his ground with both hands holding onto a sword each. Wakar did not seem to mind his silence and with a sunny smile on his face, he asked, “The reason I am keen on knowing you is that I found that you have not used a single magic spell and even used the anti-magic weapon to block the spells cast by my brethren. Why is that?”

Valerian did not bother answering, he suddenly sensed something weird about the air around him and asked, ‘Can I take off the anti-mana bracelet?’

Frila thought about it while fending off the attacks aimed at her and said, ‘Yes, you can, and try to run away, we cannot hold these guys back for long.’

She and Teal were carrying injuries of various degrees. Valerian nodded and was about to take off the bracelet on his wrist when Wakar charged in at him with his sword gleaming with a green glow.

Valerian faced the attack with his wooden sword, but what seemed to be a magic spell, splashed on his body. The young man was taken aback by this sudden change and retreated quickly. He covered the parts of his body with battle aura and the drops of the splash landed on the battle aura instead of his body.

Wakar did not stop, he kept attacking Valerian and the young man used the same trick to prevent himself. All of a sudden, Valerian got an idea, and he remembered the feeling of channeling the battle aura threads in his body. With every attack, he was growing a lot. and his prowess was rising at a fast pace.

As he was fighting, a smile appeared on his face. Wakar was taken aback, and his eyes flashed with a cold glint. The intensity of the attacks increased and the slashes became faster. Valerian did not flinch, and the armor around his body was increasing at a visible rate.

The splashes were making sizzling noises, and the color was turning a darker shade of green. When Wakar saw that his attacks were not working and the young man in front of him had a complete set of battle armor, he retreated.

Valerian looked at the situation around him and took off the bracelet on his wrist. Then he channeled the mana inside his body and said, “You people are really too bothersome.”

Then he gazed at Wakar and with a snap of his fingers, spears protruded from every spot where a Lunake soldier was standing. The forest echoed with a chain of screams and Valerian waved his hand. A wind blade appeared right next to the hand in which he was holding the sword.

The hand was directly cut off, and Wakar screamed in pain. Frila and Teal were surprised by this sudden change. Valerian was too strong after he took off the anti-magic bracelet. He did not even give a chance to blink before the spears immobilized the enemies completely.

Valerian walked toward Wakar with a calm expression on his face and said, “My name is Valerian, I am a human. Thank you for your help in allowing me to advance the realm of my exercise. Umm, well wait for a second, let me silence the surroundings.”

Valerian snapped his fingers and then heads began to fall. He cast multiple wind blades at the same time and the surroundings became silent. The young man had a smile on his face when he looked at Wakar as he said, “I welcome you to pay a visit to the Maiden of the clar-awks. I feel like she will be delighted to have you.”
