Chapter 91 - Clean Up Crew
"Yup, I will give this to them. You get started. I am going to take the dude\'s car.", Lucas winked at Angela and opened the door.
Angela looked at the side mirror and glanced at the Camaro that was parked on the other side of the parking lot. Lucas reappeared in the driving seat of that car.
"Honestly, I just don\'t understand boys and their obsession with cars.", she shook her head as she pulled the car back. Lucas also started his car, but it was by no means silent, unlike Angela\'s car.
She followed Lucas as they left the parking lot, and slowly went to the alley that Lucas had killed the poor man in. While they were passing through the roads, they could hear sirens on the other side. It was clear that the blast had attracted a lot of attention, and the police were extremely afraid that another terrorist attack was underway.
They stopped after a while, and Lucas got off. He stretched his hands, and looked at Angela. Angela also got off her car.
"You really did this in the wrong place. We should have just let this man go to the police. A terrorist attack in New York of all places? Everyone is going to be goddamn at the edge of their seats now. You really couldn\'t do anything?", Angela shouted at Lucas.
"Calm down. It\'s not like I have a bomb diffusion specialty.", Lucas said.
"When will your crew come here to clean this mess up?", Angela asked.
"Calm down. If and when the police come, we have you, don\'t we? You are probably going to be able to calm them down and turn them around.", Lucas laughed.
"Yeah, but it isn\'t exactly the funnest thing to do for me.", Angela said.
"I took you over everybody else because you are probably going to be most suited for me. Praneeth is going to be spewing all sorts of spiritual shit, Arthur and Michael bicker all the time, Mu Chen wants to kill me, and Eva is such a kill joy.", Lucas said.
"Let us just get this over with. It has been a month since I slept in a proper place. Michael tried, but making a five star hotel in a five star hotel in a warehouse is just not going to work.", Angela sighed.
"And look at that. They are here.", Lucas pointed towards a van that was coming towards them. On the van, the words \'Frank\'s cleaners\' were written.
"That is pretty upfront.", Angela said.
"He is pretty frank about everything. Pun intended.", Lucas said.
The van screeched to a halt, and the side doors swung open. Three people with medical suits, masks, and gloves got off the van and directly went to the scene of the crime.
"Lucas! What happened to you lately? I haven\'t heard from you for a whole ten years!", a plump man got off the front seat and laughed at Lucas.
"Didn\'t really feel like killing any one at that time. Now, this dude pissed me off.", Lucas said.
"Do you have the cash? Or should I put it on a tab?", Frank asked.
"I don\'t like owing someone anything.", Lucas said as he handed a stack of cash to Frank.
Frank took a glance at the stack and looked back at Lucas. "Oh, Lucas. you might have took a break, but for us, costs have increased. Inflation man. Ten Gs ain\'t going to cut it. The price increased to twelve. Do you have two more?", Frank asked.
"Two more grand? That is asking for too much, isn\'t it Frank? I can always leave it the way it is, and let the police find it. I am leaving the country after all. Don\'t act in bad faith. You will lose the few customers that you have.", Lucas said.
"Alright, alright. For a long time friend, I am going to take a two thousand dollar discount.", Frank said quickly.
"Alright. Get this over with. I am going to leave this all to you. Come on, Angela. Let us get going. If we can rest now, we can start early.", Lucas said.
"Rest early? You had a whole seven days of rest! What more do you need?", Angela scoffed.
"A man needs his sleep.", Lucas laughed as he walked to the Camaro and revved up the engine. Angela shook her head and got onto her own car.
Lucas led the way as the both of them left the scene. They went back to the way that they came from, and the both of them went to the Hilton. Tossing the keys to the valet, he waited for Angela to get the duffel bag along with her. Taking it from her, he let her pass.
"Let me do all the talking. Only the manager knows about me, so we will have to wait a little while.", Lucas said.
"I just want a nice bed to sleep in. And all of the other goodies as well. There is a jacuzzi right?", Angela asked.
"Yeah, yeah yeah. Since when did you get so snobby?", Lucas scoffed.
"Since I tried the thing and got addicted.", Angela said.
Lucas shook his head and went to the front desk.
"Hello sir. How may I help you and your lovely... partner?", the receptionist asked.
"Don\'t even get there.", Lucas stopped Angela from trying to refute the receptionist.
"We have a room booked for us. The presidential suite.", Lucas said.
"I am sorry, but there must be some sort of mistake. The presidential suite has been occupied.", the receptionist smiled back.
"Just tell your manager that the person who reserved it has come. He will probably know.", Lucas said.
"As you wish, sir.", the receptionist nodded and left the station.
